CITY PARKS
Look. And listen. Some photographers have caused such disruptions and have behaved so disrespectfully in public spaces during photo sessions, that fee-based permits are now required at many local parks and favorite nature areas. As a respectful professional, I fully support the policies and enforcements that require such permits, but sometimes it’s just not in the budget for a session. I have a few favorite go-to parks that are - at least at the time of posting this page - free to use. They are generally quite a bit smaller than some of the well-known nature reserves, but they still offer excellent green spaces with luscious leaves and fantastic fall foliage. My typical suggestions are for a few great parks in Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit, but I’m open to traveling to other areas that may be favorite spots for you and your crew.
And we will be respectful and courteous at these places, or any other place we choose to shoot!
